Mother's Day is getting celebrated every year for honoring mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. This yearly event is getting celebrated on various days in various countries of the world. Most of the Countries including United States and India are celebrating Mother's Day on second Sunday in May. So, this year (2014) Mother's Day will be celebrated on May 11th.
This Mother's Day celebration was initiated by Anna Jarvis at America in the year 1908.
Although Anna Jarvis was successful in founding Mother's Day, she later became resentful of the commercialization of Mother's Day Holiday.
Anna Jarvis specifically noted that "Mother's" should be a singular possessive, for each family to honor its mother, not a plural possessive commemorating all mothers of the world.
Every year, Google used to show Doodle for Mother's Day. Last year (2013), Google showed this Doodle. And, in the year 2012, it showed this Doodle.
And, these Doodles were shown by Google in the previous 11 years. This Year (2014) Google shows this Doodle for celebrating Mother's Day.
