Today I got the below error message when trying to install the Skype which is very useful for communicating online as well as with Phones.
We are having problems connecting to the download serverI got similar error message even after clicking the "Download" button as suggested in the error message.
To download an alternative insallter for skype, click the "Download" button
This error message was shown on only one machine which was installed with Skype previously few years back and then uninstalled. And, fresh installation of skype in other machines were completed successfully without getting any error message.
After doing some google search I came to know about below work around, and it worked perfectly.
i-e Once after getting the error message, I found a Skype.msi at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Skype\{some class id}. On double clicking this Skype.msi starts the Skype installation, and the skype installation was completed successfully without any further errors.
